No Fool Like a Marxists Fool
The Atlantic just published an article from a easily forgotten author from Toronto Canada drawing a correlation between the rosary and those who would use an AR-15 rifle to commit violent attacks. He claims online photos depict the rosary positioned next to the gun and surmises the rosary has now taken on a militaristic meaning and a symbolism of those who disagree with the left’s philosophy.
As expected, the supposed backers of such photos have to be extremists, racists, domestic terrorists and, you guessed it, Trump followers. Predictably, the author and many of his ilk rant against any pushback to the Marxist (dirty) laundry list of pet perversions and beliefs. He writes, “but the far right’s constellations of violent, racist, and homophobic online milieus are well documented for providing a pathway to radicalization and real-world terrorist attacks”. The conclusion the atheist Canadian author draws is to insinuate the rosary is a weapon against the progressive movement and lectures the reader about Christianity and how they are to love their enemies.
Well, Mr. unremarkable God-hating author, I do have to agree with some of what you claim. Half of your argument is completely correct, but not for the reasons you may think. As they say, ‘a broken clock is right at least once a day’. The hatred of the good always hardens the mind of a sinner to be oblivious to what is right even if it is right in front of their face. The joke is on you, the rosary is a weapon and by your comments have energized more people to pray the rosary to combat your kind of evil.
Mr. author, you try and justify your position by claiming all Christians should love their enemies. Again, the clock is right once a day. If you had a scintilla of faith, you would understand the reciting of the rosary honors both the commandment to love enemies and to fight against evil. Remember what Jesus told his disciples, “Do you think I have come to establish peace on earth? No, I tell you rather division”. (Read our post here which explains this verse in detail).
The history of the rosary advocating for peace goes back over a century. On May 13, 1917, our Blessed Mother appeared to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal and instructed them to pray the rosary for world peace. She also told them to end each decade of the rosary with this short prayer, “O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell; lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy”.
Later in the twentieth century, St. John Paul II who was very devoted to the rosary and to the Blessed Mother’s care for her spiritual children wrote, ““The revival of the Rosary in Christian families … will be an effective aid to countering the devastating effects of [the] crisis typical of our age.”
In his apostolic letter, “Rosarium Virginis Mariae”, St. Pope John Paul II wrote, “The Rosary has the power to bring forth a “harvest of holiness” and helps to “proclaim Christ” to the world”.
Far from being the weapon the Marxist movement envisions, a weapon which could destroy them physically, the rosary is a far greater weapon against evil which carries no ammunition in a magazine nor is it manifested in killing unborn babies, or the violence in cities which masquerades as justice.
The rosary is a far greater weapon than any of yours because it is spiritual and connects human beings through the intercession of the Blessed Mother to Christ himself, who is the Prince of Peace. The mysteries prayed on the rosary depict the life of Jesus and his Blessed Mother until the day they were taken up to heaven respectively. The reflection of each mystery gives strength to the believer and continues to reinforce the greatest mystery—the conquering of evil perpetrated by Satan and his minions through salvation and redemption.
If you have any doubts, clear the notion from your mind that the world is not again at full blown war with evil. One of the weapons we use to fight the battle is the great gift of the rosary.
Holy Mother of God pray with us again, “O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell; lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy”. Amen.
Pray the rosary often and by the help of your prayers, aid in defeating evil in our world.
