Wisdom Should Come with Age
A long time ago, when the affairs of men were guided by divine revelation and human reason, it was common to consent to the notion that with age came wisdom. The thought was not some far-flung idea but one that came with universal human experience. Five distinct cultures worldwide have reverenced the connection between old age and wisdom.
Without delving too deeply into the subject, some initial causes can be mentioned to explain the correlation between age and wisdom. Individuals who have lived longer de facto have experienced more life experiences and have had the opportunity to learn from these experiences. Moreover, as an older person’s vitality decreases, dependency on others and the reality of their lives typically reshapes their thought process.

Seemingly not with a national figure like Anthony Fauci, who denounced his Catholic faith by insinuating his moral construct is all he needs to live a good life. Fauci has imperiled his soul by positing himself as the center of truth instead of God. He has rejected the necessity of the Resurrection of Jesus from the dead and should be told by someone he will never possess the power to raise himself when his earthly journey has ended. Fauci should realize he has lived more years than he has left to live, and his belief in himself will be put to the test.

Fauci is not the only old fool who has advanced in age and has fallen into a similar trap, disregarding the source of wisdom for the fleeting possession of power and notoriety. Nancy Pelosi, the former Speaker of the House and an avowed Catholic, did not renounce her faith publicly as did Fauci, but her actions and comments as a public figure amount to the same thing. Pelosi has earned a 100% score from NARAL Pro-Choice America, an organization opposing any restrictions on abortion contrary to her alleged Catholic faith.
Even though Pelosi would vehemently disagree, her public support of abortion separates her from the Body of Christ by leading people astray, having the same effect as Fauci, who publicly stated he no longer needed the faith to live an alleged good life. It is truly a shame that a woman who was raised as a Catholic and rose to national prominence hasn’t, in her eighties, taken the time to reflect on her life and what she has done to harm the good. Pelosi is blinded by her success instead of seeking wisdom by rightly invoking God in her decision-making.

The most prominent octogenarian, who lacks wisdom, is the current President of the United States. Another character who boasts about his Catholic faith has not attained any wisdom through his eighty-plus years. In his tenure as president, he has proved to be the most virulent defender of abortion and the trans movement the country has ever seen. The power he possesses in the Oval Office to work to promote evil is the surest sense this man, far from being wise, has proven to be a wayward soul.
It is truly regrettable when a person has been given the gift of age and willingly throws away the opportunity to gain experience and wisdom. But more tragic is the willingness to ignore their lives, which are sunsetting, and the time left for them to repent diminishes; all they will have left to cling to is their stubborn pride.
There is no fool like an old fool. Pray for these and others who have convinced themselves of what Fauci said aloud: “First of all, I think my own personal ethics in life are, I think, enough to keep me going on the right path.”
If only these people would heed the words of Isaiah, “The eyes of human pride will be lowered, the arrogance of mortals shall be abased, and the Lord alone will be exalted, on that day.”
