Boy Scouts R.I.P.

Our heartfelt condolences to all those families who were once part of the rich American tradition of Boy Scouting. This institution, which for 114 years fostered solidarity among boys and promoted wholesome virtues through outdoor experiences, holds a significant place in our nation’s history. It provided countless boys, who might not have had the opportunity otherwise, with the chance to camp and engage in extracurricular activities, shaping them into better individuals and citizens. The recent Boy Scouts of America announcement marks the end of an era. But not all good was happening within the Scouts.

Boy Scouts of America President Roger Krone announced that the Boy Scouts will be rebranded as Scouting America next February. According to Krone, the name change was necessary because the organization seeks to ensure everyone feels welcome and open to all. Krone’s word salad explains the change, “Scouting under the name Scouting America will enable us to chart a course towards continued growth, relevance, and impact.”

The Boy Scout organization was rotting from within long before the rebranding effort. For decades, young boys were allegedly sexually abused. Reports indicated that as many as 60,000 to  80,000 boys were molested during their time in the Scouts. Like other organizations, which also had a rash of abuse cases, the Boy Scouts were not immune to the creeping paganism of U.S. culture.  The crushing number of abuse cases caused the Boy Scouts to file for Chapter 11 in February 2020. In February of this year, the Supreme Court of the United States allowed a 2.46 billion settlement with sexual abuse victims.

The sexual abuse claims were not the only problem plaguing the Scouts. In 2013, under the tutelage of the current president, Krone opened its arms to the LGBTQ+ community. At that time, Krone said, “We want to make sure that all youth in America understand that they are welcome in our organization, that this is a safe place for them to learn and grow and to be their authentic self.” In 2015, the Boys Scouts lifted its ban on gay scout leaders

It is blatantly apparent the name change is a strategy to try and save the organization by bowing to the political pressures of the LGBTQ+ lobby.  The change in the name is the only thing honest about what the Scouts are doing. They no longer see the organization as one dedicated to boys and their enrichment and have bought into the Marxist ideology of destroying the difference between males and females.

Not only has the Scout organization accepted the Marxist movement to destroy gender, but it is also wholeheartedly behind Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and proudly broadcasts this on its website: “BSA has collaborated with nonprofits and youth organizations to learn best practices and identify opportunities to advance the ideals of DEI throughout our communities and society.”  It sounds like Scouting America is more interested in things other than developing boys and camping.

The playbook of the new “Scouting America” is more of the tiresome woke agenda and the arm of yet another Marxist takeover of coveted institutions. Perhaps with its recent history and no commitment to return to virtue through policy and programming, the death of the Boy Scouts is a welcome end. So far, the Girl Scouts have not indicated they will change their name. Maybe there are too many cookies left to be sold.

Hopefully, any religious organizations that once sponsored the Boy Scouts and their families with boys will consider staying clear from the Scouts of America. Their new name and new mission are aimed at working to destabilize the culture by ignoring the truth, which indicates there is no such thing as gender fluidity.
