The Epstein Mess

The story that will not go away is the recent development in the Epstein case. On July 7, the FBI released information contending there was no “client list.” The public did not receive the report well, and the story has gone viral. The consternation grew because there appeared to be another cover-up, and the promise of transparency was nothing more than a bait and switch.

Tucker Carlson recently opined about the role of Attorney General Pam Bondi in the present fervor. He said, “Rather than just admit that, Pam Bondi made a bunch of ludicrous claims on cable news shows that she couldn’t back up, and this current outrage is the result.” In an interview on NBC, Carlson also thinks the DOJ does not have relevant information about the Epstein case. So, why, six years after Epstein’s death, is this story so important to the American people? Possibly because of the past shady actions of the FBI, coupled with their incongruent report on the matter.

The FBI claims there is no client list, nor is there any evidence that Epstein was blackmailing anyone. After that admission, they go on to say:

“Consistent with prior disclosures, this review confirmed that Epstein harmed over one thousand victims. Each suffered unique trauma. Sensitive information relating to these victims is intertwined throughout the materials. This includes specific details such as victim names and likenesses, physical descriptions, places of birth, associates, and employment history. One of our highest priorities is combating child exploitation and bringing justice to victims. Perpetuating unfounded theories about Epstein serves neither of those ends.”

If over one thousand victims were harmed during the immoral activities of Epstein, then how can there be only two persons charged, one dead, allegedly through suicide, and one in prison? If we are to believe what the FBI has to say, then Epstein is the most prolific serial abuser of all time. Furthermore, all the accusations about other individuals that had surfaced throughout the years must be false.

Simply, the report doesn’t make any sense. The public is incensed that another cover-up is happening, and it appears there is business as usual in Washington, D.C.

Younger adults who attended the Turning Point Conference in Tampa this past weekend, the Epstein case was the most prominent issue. It seems these young adults still have a moral compass where pedophilia and sex trafficking are abhorrent and should not be excused. There is still no appetite to protect the powerful and wealthy, perceived as having the means and connections to escape criminal activity.

There is something else that this case could surface, which is quite frightening to any moral person. Is the darkness and evil of pedophilia and sex trafficking more prevalent in the world than the average person is aware of? If Epstein is alleged to have caused harm to one thousand victims for years, how many more of his ilk are out there, and how many more have been victimized?

The moral crisis of abuse in modern society is stunning.  The clamor to get the complete story about Epstein’s crimes is necessary to stop at least some of the children who will become victims. The Epstein story isn’t enough; there must be more vigilance to eradicate this evil cancer from our society.

The Administration must come clean, and if they can’t tell the public more, explain why. Anything less is unacceptable.
