The Difference Between Two Presidents

During the most solemn week of the year for Christians, President Trump addressed the nation on his Truth Social account. It is refreshing for a president to speak without some political angle or gain, unprecedented among the free world’s leaders. His comments are theologically sound in that he realizes the joy of Easter must be prefaced by the Savior’s pain and suffering. His post is worth reading.

This Holy Week, Christians around the World remember the Crucifixion of God’s Only Begotten Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and, on Easter Sunday, we celebrate His Glorious Resurrection and proclaim, as Christians have done for nearly 2,000 years, “HE IS RISEN!”

Through the pain and sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross, we saw God’s boundless Love and Devotion to all Humanity and, in that moment of His Resurrection, History was forever changed with the Promise of Everlasting Life.

As we approach this Joyous Easter Sunday, I want to wish Christians everywhere a Happy and very Blessed Holiday. America is a Nation of Believers. We need God, we want God.”

In contrast, the previous president, who was portrayed by the media as a good Catholic, said this last year.

Easter reminds us of the power of hope and the promise of Christ’s Resurrection. As we gather with loved ones, we remember Jesus’s sacrifice. We pray for one another and cherish the blessing of the dawn of new possibilities. And with wars and conflict taking a toll on innocent lives around the world, we renew our commitment to work for peace, security, and dignity for all people.”

Biden’s words were sure to please the social justice warriors and appease left-leaning members of the Church. Using all the catchwords, his comments had the flavor of the leftist Christian liberation theology bent. Cherish the dawn of new possibilities? What could he have meant by that sentence? It didn’t take long to find out.

On the holiest day in the Christian calendar, Biden purposely used it to proclaim to the nation his proclamation of the Transgender Day of Visibility. Catholics and many Christian denominations denounce transgender as an immoral practice. Notice what part of the proclamation says: “I am proud that my Administration has stood for justice from the start, working to ensure that the LGBTQI+ community can live openly, in safety, with dignity and respect.” Biden ended his remarks for Easter with the same language.

What Biden and the left always fail to realize is that opposition to immoral behavior is not treating these people with disrespect. On the contrary, it is out of love and compassion to direct those individuals to a life free from the encumbrance of sin. Furthermore, the attack on their dignity is self-inflicted because, by their desire to be something they are not, they reduce their beings from spiritual beings to objects to be manipulated or changed on a whim.

Human dignity derives from the union established by God upon their conception. Created in God’s image, humans are unlike any other living being on earth because they have been given an immortal soul capable of living eternally. This depends on the reconciled relationship with God. Since God is truth itself, a person living in falsehood is incapable of a union and, therefore, incapable of eternal life.

The difference between the two presidents is evident. One of them spoke to the nation about the great importance of the Paschal Mystery, while the other used it for political gain.
