The federal government is expert at spending taxpayers’ money frivolously. In the 1980s, the joke was that a toilet seat purchased by the Military cost a whopping $640. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a joke. Nearly forty years later, the government hasn’t learned a thing. The sad reality is that it doesn’t want to know because the institution has long been in the business of making lawmakers and their friends rich.
If you have ever wondered what the “Deep State” is, it is nothing more than ideologues who try to manipulate American culture and policy with taxpayer money. Without money, the Deep State will cease to exist. That is why the multiple omnibus bills passed by Congress in the past years have accrued an unprecedented debt of over $36 trillion. Before, it was known as pork, but today, the money goes to support radical ideas and the NGOs that support them.
Generally, ordinary Americans will never know how much money their lawmakers allocate or spend. Sure, the elite class throws out numbers for what is spent on the military or social security, much like a bone is thrown to a dog to placate him. The other spending remains hidden from the public because it is so outrageous that it could never pass the smell test.
The dirty secret in Washington is never to be transparent about where the other money is spent. This is partly why the federal deficit is over 36 trillion dollars. Under the new administration, some of the wasteful spending is being highlighted. Some of it may shock you when you have to pay over $5 for a dozen eggs. Not surprisingly, funds allocated for political and ideological purposes are part of the problem. The transgender craze of the past comprises some of the waste.
Thousands of dollars were sent to Columbia to fund a transgender opera, and money was given to Peru to pay for a comic book trying to influence children that transgenderism is natural and should be embraced.
But those two donations pale in comparison to the funding provided to colleges and universities across the country to create transgender rats and study the effects of pharmaceuticals on them. Prominent centers of higher learning have been given federal funds to attempt to transition lab rats from male to female with drugs to the tune of 10 million dollars in government grants. Supposedly, the research is to ascertain the effects of certain drugs on humans during their transitions.
To put this in perspective, by contrast, those affected by a hurricane in North Carolina and the wildfires in California were offered a measly $700.
Thanks to government officials working to bring some accountability on how taxpayer dollars are spent, the misuse of money for immoral purposes will be substantially curtailed. Representative Nancy Mace of North Carolina and the Chairwoman of the Oversight and Accountability Committee called for a hearing regarding animal cruelty in which the research about trans-rats was explicitly mentioned.
The attempted Cultural Revolution of the Marxists in the previous administration who promoted everything ‘trans’ shows how deep the rot is. The attempted takeover and the redefining of gender by these leftists had a more significant influence than first thought. By controlling the purse strings of research and granting millions of dollars to numerous universities, the goal was to corrupt science and the people who work in this field. The same held with the COVID pandemic, where funded institutionalized science kept promoting unsubstantiated conclusions. History was not kind to them; most of their assertions proved to be misinformation.
In spending 10 million dollars, what scientific gain is there when the theory’s premise is entirely wrong? There are not more than two genders, and the charade of being able to change your gender at will is a level of insanity. How many other human maladies could be studied and perhaps cured with millions of research money now wasted on junk science?
Any well-meaning person has to agree with Nancy Mace: don’t make the rats suffer by chemically mutilating them for research that has no value. More importantly, protest even more when science and medicine want to do it on human beings.
