Pelosi Says Abortion is Taking a Life

Pelosi Just Admitted Abortion Kills

The Archbishop of San Francisco, Most Rev. Salvatore Cordileone, recently informed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi through a letter and a social media post that she should not be allowed to receive the Eucharist until she publicly denounces her long-standing support for abortion. Pelosi call herself a “devout” Catholic, but has for her entire career been a loud and outspoken proponent of abortion euphemistically calling the slaughter of innocent life – woman’s health care. Last October, GMC’s Elizabeth Laurel wrote an article about Pelosi’s record and her 100% score from the rabid abortion lobby, NARAL Pro-Choice America

When asked about the communion ban, Pelosi responded with the following on an MSN morning program, “I wonder about the death penalty, which I’m opposed to. So is the church, but they take no actions against people who may not share their view.” This was Pelosi’s futile attempt to push back against the ban and highlight the hypocrisy she feels is present in the Catholic Church for those public officials who support the death penalty and are not officially sanctioned like her.

But by doing so, Pelosi outed herself and publicly admitted that she must believe abortion is indeed the ending of one’s life (just like the death penalty) and not the radical left’s often parroted moniker for abortion – health care.  In attempting to make a moral equivalence between abortion and the death penalty, Pelosi said the quiet part out loud for all to hear, that abortion kills a human life. In the case of abortion however, the life lost is totally innocent and incredibly vulnerable unlike some of the unfortunate people who are currently serving on death row.

You may have noticed that the radical left has changed its pro-abortion message from “choice” to “health care” in an attempt to sanitize the true nature of this horrible procedure.

The prolife movement must push against the erroneous claim that abortion is health care. To help in this endeavor, the Secretariat of Pro-life Activities of the USCCB has published a comprehensive document in February 2021 dispelling this notion. Some of the many arguments made in this document are as follows:

  • Abortion is a marginal practice compared to other forms of genuine health care
  • An unborn child is a patient, not a disease
  • It is not racist to restrict public funding for abortion
  • There is a well-earned stigma for abortionists from other members of the health care community
  • Abortion does not improve a woman’s health – it may jeopardize it
  • Abortion dangers a woman’s life
  • Even insurance companies recognize the unborn child as deserving medical treatment

In May of 2021, the Family Research Council also published a piece debunking abortion as health care. They argue that abortion ends human life instead of sustaining it, which should be the goal of valid health care; abortion targets disadvantaged groups by placing clinics in areas with a high concentration of black and brown people; and abortion activists have ignored medical developments over the last fifty years that clearly indicate that an unborn child can feel pain.

Take the time to read these documents in their entirety and familiarize yourself with the truth. There are probably people in your life that need to be reminded exactly what abortion is and does, whether it is Speaker Pelosi, a friend, a relative or neighbor. This will be especially true if the Supreme Court eventually overturns Roe v. Wade as the barrage of propaganda from the radical left will only intensify. Be armed with the truth and pray for the courage to proclaim it boldly.
