Immoral Desire to Live 150 Years

If a person is somewhat literate with scripture, hearing that some prominent people lived well over 100 years would not be a surprise. Moses, for example, lived to the ripe old age of 120 years. Of course, no one is quite certain how the ancients who wrote the scripture marked off time or what calendar they used. But when months and years were more accurately codified, no one lived that long.
But that could all change. The Chinese are attempting to extend life spans with Project 981. The project hasn’t unearthed any new revelations about nutrition and exercise, nor has it found a fountain of youth or a mechanical device that would turn a human being into a hybrid of life and technology. No, their method is much more straightforward and immoral.
Project 981 aims to prolong human life through organ transplants. Taking healthy and younger organs and surgically implanting them into another’s body. Now, there is nothing immoral about transplants; the immorality lies in the method of harvesting those organs. The moral method of transplantation surgeries is grounded in the human dignity of the donor.
Three criteria must be met for the procedure to be moral. They are:
- There must be free and informed consent from the donor or their family
- The donor must be dead and not in some suspended state
- Death cannot be caused to obtain organs
None of these conditions are observed by the Chinese Communist Party. Since they are atheists, they care little about potential donors when they planned Project 981. The Chinese Project has been around for ten years or more, known only to the Chinese elites and a few in the West. Their project is being revealed to the world.
The Project came to light during an open-mic conversation among the Chinese, Russian, and North Korean leaders. President Xi Jinping stated, “Earlier, people rarely lived to 70, but these days, at 70, you are still a child. “As biotechnology advances, human organs can be continuously transplanted, allowing us to become younger and younger, perhaps even achieve immortality.”
The source of these organs targets a section of their population who practice the religion of Falun Gong. The Chinese Communist Party has persecuted Falun Gong for years. Founded in the mid-90s, Falun Gong is a religious practice that emphasizes physical and spiritual development. Falun Gong advocates for self-cultivation through the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.
The Chinese Communist Party is at war with Falun Gong for several reasons. The reported total of 100 million members far exceeded the number of citizens joining the CCP. The demand to be free of political influence, the Falun Gong is a threat because it is incompatible with the communist agenda.
If the members are identified, they are often arrested. Those incarcerated go through a strict medical evaluation, and if in good shape, would be forced to be an organ donor. In 2019, Sir Geoffrey Nice chaired an Independent UK tribunal called The Independent Tribunal into Forced Organ Harvesting from Prisoners of Conscience in China. The study concluded the fact of forced organ harvesting in China, with the principal source being members of Falun Gong.
The alarm bell should be rung about the human rights violations against their own Chinese people. The atrocity of using another human being as a source of parts is unacceptable and against human dignity. But what also should be noted is how easily a new commercial market in the West can spring up. There are plenty of unscrupulous medical personnel and institutions that would utilize human beings as products, and it is a safe bet that China would sell organs for profit.
So far, there is no evidence of a widespread black market in organs. That, however, doesn’t mean it won’t at some time. The warning bell has rung, and Christians must be diligent and never allow this to happen in the West while at the same time denouncing the practice in China.
