Canada Will Kill 100k by Year’s End

Canada is experiencing a moral crisis, and it began when it legalized Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID). Projections indicate that by the end of the year, 100k of their citizens will be put to death since its inception in 2016.

Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, while in office, was a vigorous proponent of euthanasia for Canadian citizens. Back then, he commented, “Making this first step a responsible, prudent one that gets the balance right between protecting vulnerable Canadians and defending rights and freedoms is what we have focused on, and I’m confident that we got that balance right.”

Getting it right for Trudeau has translated into an estimated 100k deaths or an average of 45 Canadians being killed per day, with the help of the State. For Canada, the question is no longer a slippery slope but a downhill race to the bottom.

Besides being a progressive liberal, Justin Trudeau’s backing of euthanasia has family roots. According to the Armstrong Economics website, Pierre Elliot Trudeau, the alleged father of Justin, founded an organization aimed at reducing the population.  Apparently, the foundation was aimed at studying genome sequencing and exploring its potential to “reduce the burden of disease on themselves and on society as a whole.”  This is a euphemism for eugenics by eliminating those who are health-challenged. Armstrong noted the comment in 2024, and since the page from the foundation has been scrubbed.

Trudeau is not the only Canadian on board with the suicidal tendencies of killing their own citizens under the flimsy excuse of mercy and dignity. Plenty of lawmakers in Canada have no problem expanding the MAID law to include more deaths.

In 2021, it was proposed that the killing law be expanded from those nearing death to include those with mental illness. The expansion of the law will happen in 2027. In 2022, Canada included what is called advance requests. Succinctly, it is the option for a person to want to commit suicide before losing cognitive abilities and letting their wishes be known beforehand. Piggybacking on the advanced request the same year, Canada and its Supreme Court upheld a mature minor provision in MAID, an anti-Christian and anti-rational opinion.

The mature minor doctrine allows minors who can demonstrate capacity to make medical decisions. What it entails is a belief that a mature minor (whatever that means) has the right and capacity to make serious healthcare choices, even choosing euthanasia.

The impetus behind the suicidal tendencies of Canadians has a regrettable history of propaganda about the horrors of population growth. The ugliness of eugenics has been around for a while, and basically, it claims the earth cannot support an increase in population. Regardless of the claim being disproved from the beginning of the last century, leftists ignore the facts and science and continue to peddle the evil doctrine.

The killings must stop in Canada, and the deaths of 100,000 people are a direct affront to God and humanity as a whole. Too many Canadians now have drunk the Kool-Aid and believe the practice is acceptable. Probably, they have been the victims of a repeated scare tactic of overpopulation or the insignificance of Christian suffering. The drum must be repeatedly beaten to maintain the dignity of the human person, and be reminded of the benefit of Christian suffering not only for themselves, but also for others.

Concurrently, doctors in Canada must refuse to practice euthanasia and make it harder for their citizens to seek out the immoral practice. The slippery slope in Canada is no longer theoretical; it tragically has become the norm.
