Another Horrendous Super Bowl Halftime

Here we go again. The 60th Super Bowl is coming up this Sunday, complete with another horrendous halftime show.  For the past 20 years or more, the NFL has allowed left-leaning artists with a cultural and political axe to grind to use the exposure to promote left-leaning ideologies. The shows have become so repulsive and edgy that they are unsuitable for children and adults seeking wholesome entertainment.

Just like before, the halftime show has nothing to do with football and more to do with the woke propaganda the NFL wants to peddle. Following their charter to attract half of the country who revels in pushing the cultural and moral envelope, the artist they picked this year will not disappoint.

He is called Bad Bunny and will perform this year. Bad Bunny, a Puerto Rican rapper, was named in September amid some controversy.  NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell did not waver on the pick and said he would be the first Spanish-language artist to headline a Super Bowl halftime show. The problem is not that he is Spanish-speaking, but more about who he is and what he stands for.

Bad Bunny won the Album of the Year at the Grammys this past Sunday night. During his acceptance speech, he used predictably leftist verbiage to deliver his politically potent message.  He started his remarks by saying, “Before I say thanks to God, I’m going to say, ICE out.” His first sentence indicated exactly where he was coming from and began a litany that illegal aliens are not savages, animals, or aliens. He finished his remarks by saying that we are humans and Americans. His disingenuous litany about love being stronger than hate brought his comments to an end.

What Bad Bunny is trying to tell Americans is that not allowing illegal aliens into their sovereign country is hateful.  If it is the case, then all of the other countries that do not allow illegal immigrants are hateful countries too. Funny, the only country singled out is the United States, even though every other country limits or denies immigration.  

When he calls all of the illegals Americans, he is gaslighting those who are naïve to know the difference. Just as ridiculous as a male person who calls himself a woman, doesn’t change the fact that he is and always will be a male. Using the term American when a person hasn’t been naturalized is just as absurd a statement.

Most Americans disagree with Bad Bunny’s leftist position on immigration. A recent poll indicated some earth-shattering findings. Seventy-three percent of Americans believe that crossing the border without permission is a crime. About 61% of people support deportations.  

Reports circulated that Bad Bunny would wear a dress to support the LGBTQ+ community. TMZ told its readers he will not wear a dress but will have some wardrobe guaranteed to make an impression. The NFL did not recruit or endorse Bad Bunny solely for his music. They did so to make a statement, as they have in the past, through their virtue signaling in the end zone and helmets that promote the “Choosing Love” tagline.    

Remember, choosing love for the NFL meant a wholesale acceptance of LGBTQ+, and chopping off the breasts of young girls who thought they were boys. Or the frenzy of race-baiting by using their national exposure to parrot the left’s narrative about the George Floyd incident. Enough is enough with the NFL and its halftime propaganda.

If you have to view the Super Bowl this year, turn off the halftime show. If you need a halftime music and something between the second and third quarter, then tune in to Turning Point USA’s halftime show.  If anything, don’t give the NFL the ratings by having Bad Bunny on your screen. What a novel idea, having a halftime show that includes culture, freedom, and faith.
