The Immorality of the NFL Monopoly

Intolerably, Christians must suffer through another June where the morally bankrupt want to ruin the perfectly good month of June by being proud of sexual deviance.  Since Biden left office, the daily propaganda seems to have subsided a bit. A couple of years ago, after severe backlash, the CEO of Anheuser-Busch publicly apologized for the disastrous ad campaign featuring a gay man dressed as a woman trying to sell their light beer.

Not all huge institutions have followed suit. For reasons that defy common sense, the NFL is once again encouraging Pride Month.  The iconic red, white, and blue NFL logo has been adulterated with the nauseating rainbow colors, with the tagline “Football is for Everyone”.

According to the Gallup poll, less than 10% of the population identify as gay or something else.  With so few people, why would the NFL continue to promote propaganda for the admitted, vocal, but small number? The simple reason is that the NFL has a monopoly and faces no real opposition to its support for Pride Month.

The NFL knows full well that when the season rolls around, its stance will not affect its bottom line.  Stadiums will be filled, and TV contracts and advertisements will continue as usual. During the Fall and Winter months, Americans stuck inside crave the entertainment professional football provides.  Even those who are against their stance will still go to the games and follow them on electronic devices.

Unlike beer, the NFL has no competition and feels impervious to the moral outrage its position evokes. Most importantly, betting on the games is huge. It is estimated that $2.3 billion in revenue is generated from the games each year.

It’s not all lost, and there is some hope. Ten of the 32 NFL teams have chosen not to participate in the league’s corporate messaging. It is important they are named. They are: The Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, Tennessee Titans, Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints, and Atlanta Falcons.

For Christians to register their displeasure with the NFL’s position, the NFL’s monopoly must be challenged. There are a couple of ways of doing it. Most drastically, a Christian can completely boycott the league, although a few will be willing to go to that extreme.

Instead of watching predominantly professional football, supplement games with college football if you are such a rabid fan of the game.  It will free up some of your time on Sunday, which you can use for wholesome, productive activities.

Here is the easiest. Change your allegiance from the team you like that promotes this garbage, and start following those who dare to go against the grain.  We encourage other franchises to follow suit and stop the immoral message, which has nothing to do with football.

Even though 10 teams are not enough, it is a start toward challenging the NFL corporate monopoly and holding them accountable to the fans who are sick and tired of the pride garbage rammed down their throats.
