What are we to make of Tuesday’s election in New York City that elevated a 34-year-old Marxist Muslim to the mayoralty of what was once America’s premier city? Undoubtedly, the election of Zohran Mamdani is not good news, but New Yorkers deserve what’s coming their way.
“New York has fallen!” blared more than one conservative publication. But the question is: fallen from what? This rat-and-radical-infested hellhole fell a long time ago, the willing victim of the same socialist policies and cultural rot that have doomed every country that ever enacted them.
Criminal gangs allowed to run the streets, with their savage beatings of innocent people often memorialized on TicTok. Drug addicts and mentally ill people fouling the city’s famed subways, and vermin frolicking in its parks. Third World illegal aliens trashing the city’s once grand hotels. This is the price people who live in New York pay for the supposedly sublime pleasure of being in a city that ceased to be clean, efficient and functional a long time ago.
Of course, the monied class has been able to insulate itself from the real-world consequences of electing feckless mayors for decades. They are now about to learn the lesson that the upper classes in revolutionary Russia and China learned the hard way.
Mamdani is not only a Marxist, he is also a Muslim who knows exactly how this story will end. As in Europe, the Muslims team up with the progressives to crush their common enemy: the Christianized West. But as soon as they gain any amount of power, that coalition with come to a screeching halt, as the Muslims turn on their former allies due to their debauchery and naivete.
In London and Paris, also formerly great cities, mobs of unassimilated Muslims practice their own brand of Sharia “democracy” in no-go zones, which are basically jihadist enclaves devoid of Western law enforcement. The same thing has slowly been happening in New York under its recent string of Democrat mayors. That a radical Muslim would be elected in a city that, if you believe the official 911 story, was attacked by radical Muslims 24 years ago, just deepens the irony.
“A third world communist just won in New York because New York is a third world city now,” says commentator Matt Walsh. “This is mass migration working exactly as intended. It isn’t any more complicated than that.”
Exactly so. New Yorkers deserve what’s coming, as they have voted for it time and time again. The challenge going forward for the rest of the country is to find some way to keep the cancer from spreading.
