THE DISTURBING TREND OF SATAN CLUBS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Unfortunately, Satanic imagery is on display all around us as too many Christians sit by idly. Have you heard about the blasphemous baby Baphomet dressed in swaddling clothes at the Illinois Statehouse at Christmastime right next to a nativity scene, Christmas tree and Menorah? How about Lil Nas X? He’s a rapper who made a name for himself singing a popular “children’s” song called “Old Town Road”. Lil Nas X recently made another music video of himself offering a lap dance for Satan. If that is not enough to make your spine tingle, in conjunction with his new song he also released Satan themed gym shoes featuring the number 666; a pentagram; a bible verse about the devil; and, a single drop of human blood in the sole of the shoe!
There’s more. The Satanic Temple is offering an after-school Satan club at Jane Adams Elementary School in Moline, IL. The program is designed for children in first through fifth grade. The Satanic Temple assures parents and the larger community that there is no attempt in their words to, “…convert children to any religious ideology,” and claims that their curriculum simply centers around benevolence, empathy, critical thinking skills, problem solving, creative expression and personal sovereignty. (Did they include the kitchen sink yet? No coincidence, the secular- based Marxist curriculum in many public schools does sound eerily familiar to the Satan club found in school’s diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI) and social emotional programs).
The Satanic Temple’s claim of not converting or indoctrinating children is a bald face lie consistent with Satan who is the father of all lies. The mere fact that children will be engaged in conversation about what they claim is “personal sovereignty” is a direct assault on the teachings of the Catholic Church and other Christian religions. We rightly believe that God has authority and is the only sovereign being. Humans are not because they cannot create anything outside of themselves. St. Paul writes,
“For in Him were created all things in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things were created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him things hold together” (Colossians 1:16-17).
WHAT THE TEMPLE’S MOTIVES ARE TRULY ARE
The Satanic Temple’s after-school program will undoubtedly influence small children to believe there is not a God and to think the only reason for life on earth is to please and honor themselves alone. This club states the, “Satanic Temple is a non-theistic religion that views Satan as a mythical creature representing individual freedom.” They also claim that they, “…support children thinking for themselves,” which is nothing more than a code for giving children the permission to be in direct opposition to the views of their Christian parents and grandparents. The old lie from the Garden of Eden is dusted off and represented to gullible and vulnerable children who have little experience, wisdom and power to question and reject the lies presented to them.
