African Bishops Reject New Blessing

Since the scandalous publication of Fiducia Supplicans on December 18th by the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith headed by Cardinal “Heal Me With Your Mouth” Fernández, many courageous prelates in the Church have emerged blasting this document. Lifesite News has compiled a complete list of dissenters. Most notable have been the African Bishops who, in no uncertain terms, have refused to allow their dioceses to bless homosexual or irregular couples.

The faithful in Africa are fighting a multi-faceted culture war, with Fiducia Supplicans being just one front of this insidious attempt to corrupt African countries that value the traditional family. With the power of the purse, many Western organizations, including the UN and EU, are strong-arming the continent of Africa with treaties and resolutions aimed at expanding the acceptance of homosexuality, transgenderism, abortion, and comprehensive sex education for children.

One such attempt is the ACP-EU Treaty. This agreement promises to provide opportunities for financial investment and trade in Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific States (ACP) as long as certain political ideologies are honored. These include so-called “Sexual Health, Human Rights and Law,” which are nothing more than degenerate Western ideas trying to be enshrined into international law.  Talk about the white man’s colonialization of the third world! By today’s standards, it is perniciously evil to bring in Christianity or modern inventions to improve the human condition. Still, it’s perfectly okay to force third-world countries to adopt warped Marxist philosophy. Thankfully, Hungary and Poland have not signed the renewal of this agreement, which has stymied its reauthorization.

At a UN General Assembly in December, a resolution was put forth promoting sexual orientation and gender theory as a “human right.” Representatives from Egypt, Nigeria, and the Middle East rejected the resolution, pointing out that forcing nations to adopt such a resolution is an “undemocratic imposition.” It is not by accident that the Pope’s gay-friendly document was published at this time as it so nicely dovetails with these two globalist initiatives.

Michael Matt from the Remnant Newspaper argued in his Underground podcast that Fiducia Supplicans is political. He is correct. By publishing this document, Pope Francis has given political clout to all his globalist Marxist LGBTQ friends, trying to expand the moral envelope of the Church at the expense of doctrine and tradition. Matt explains it this way, “And because Fiducia Supplicans suggests a change in public attitude at the very highest levels of Church governance, it’s obviously going to remove grounds for conscientious objections to tyrannical, secularist, globalist government regimes.”  He goes on, “You are setting up all these countries to go through hell on earth with no moral defense from the Catholic Church.”

We have seen this scenario play out before. During the COVID crisis, Francis singlehandedly removed the grounds for religious exemptions for those who opposed receiving the abortion-tainted jab.  Francis also insisted that getting the jab was the obligation of every Catholic. The faithful who decided to forgo the dangerous and ineffective mRNA shot could no longer appeal to the Church’s moral authority for shelter. As a result, many people lost their livelihoods or were coerced into receiving a highly controversial and dangerous injection.

The stakes are just as high with Fiducia Supplicans. Individual priests, bishops, cardinals, and dioceses will now be labeled as homophobic and could be convicted of hate crimes for not succumbing to tenets of this heretical document. Impoverished countries that do not comply will not be given the financial backing and aid needed to improve the lives of their citizens. The rest of the world may even sanction them.

God bless the African bishops who have opposed this perverted blackmail scheme. They have rightly recognized that their own eternal life and the lives of their flocks are of greater importance than some worldly conveniences. It is better to die in poverty than to lose your soul. Hopefully, with their united and powerful statements denouncing Fiducia Supplicans, other more timid and fearful bishops worldwide will join the voices of their devout African brothers and reject the heresies of Pope Francis.
