Obamagate: Russia, Russia, Russia

News tends to move very quickly. Just last week, the country was fixated on the Jeffrey Epstein mess, but now the story about the beginnings of the Russia election hoax knocked it off its perch. It started with the Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, last weekend releasing documents showing that the Russian lie against Donald Trump extends to President Barack Obama.

Over the weekend, on an appearance on Fox News, Gabbard said: “What we saw occur here, as the documents we released detail, was that we had a sitting president of the United States and his Cabinet and leadership team, quite frankly who were not happy with the fact that President Trump had won the election, that the American people had chosen Donald J. Trump to be the next president and commander-in-chief of the United States. And so they decided that they would do everything possible to try to undermine his ability to do what voters tasked President Trump to do.” 

Gabbard has published the recent unclassified documents proving her assertion. The records show that, as early as August 2016, U.S. intelligence had no credible evidence that Russia was influencing the upcoming election in any way. After Trump was elected in November, the assessment remained unchanged until December 8, 2016. The next day, Obama and his top officials met, and a task force was established to formulate a new narrative implicating Russia in election meddling. The result of the changed narrative was leaked to the Washington Post that same evening.  On December 14, 2016, Deep State actors began to quote the phony narrative, which concluded officials believe “with a high level of confidence” that Russian President Vladimir Putin was personally involved in the “U.S. Election Hack.”

The false narrative led the country down a four-year disaster, and never once did the Democrats or Obama correct the record; they just let it happen. In doing so, the Russia hoax destroyed many lives and families, subverting the will of the voters.  A piece by Michael Caputo in December 2024 recalls the destruction the Russian lie caused individuals. He entitled his article, Russiagate Remnants.

Caputo references all those who suffered unjustly because of the coup. His points must be remembered, especially after the jaw-dropping news about the recent revelations about Obama and his top officials. He talks about all those adversely affected by the lie, including himself. He uses the word ‘Remnants’ and insinuates they have been thrown into the ash heap of history, like a piece of garbage.  But he wants to remind us that they and their families suffered greatly, although they are now forgotten as casualties of the coup.

Caputo developed cancer as a result of the stress he was under, along with others. One of Caputo’s colleagues succumbed to the disease, which he brilliantly articulates as “unfathomable stress that drives cancer.” He recalled those who lost their jobs and homes for standing for the truth. Due to the increased pressure against those who doubted the “official narrative,” some of the Remnants were contemplating suicide to end their nightmare.

He recalls an unhinged, bitter old lady in his neighborhood harassing his five- and eight-year-old daughters while playing in their yard. She screamed at the children and mocked their safety while doxing them on social media by posting a picture of their house for all to see. The old lady has since died, but may God have mercy on her soul.

The Remnants must remind us that the Russiagate hoax was not just a political strategy to remove Trump from office. It was a lie and an affront to democracy, taking a significant toll on the county and causing unthinkable harm to those who, unfortunately, were caught in the net of the corruption.

When you hear more about this massive corruption in the coming days, think about the victims first and pray for them. A moral and democratic country can never again tolerate actions against its electorate without justice being rendered.
