Object of a Human Act

The object of a human act is one of the three sources which determine the morality of a human act (See circumstances and intention which include the other two sources). The moral object of the act is the “objective” character of a human act and has the most importance. If the object of a human act is evil, no good circumstance or intention can render the act moral. For example, if the object of an act is adultery, no circumstance or intention can render adultery permissible.
