A political theory and ideology which holds a common sharing of goods and services. It also denies the right of a person to own personal property. Those who promoted communism initially touted a compassionate way of living. It argued the equality of citizens economically, but the real goal was to eliminate all religion and beliefs.
Communism emphasizes matter over spirit. In doing so, it summarily rejects the need for God by exalting the material world and positing the state as the infallible author of the truth. Communistic regimes often govern in a totalitarian way by squashing any and all dissent from the government’s position.
In 2017, the Wall Street Journal reported after one hundred years of communism which began in Russia, It is estimated over 100 million people were put to death worldwide.
The Church has traditionally been against this form of government since its inception.
