The world watched in horror as President Trump somehow survived an assassination attempt last Saturday at his rally in Butler, PA. Details surrounding this incident and a reasonable explanation for why this was allowed to occur have been sketchy at best. Days passed before the director of the Secret Service, Kimberly Cheatle, came out with a statement.
On Tuesday (a full 72 hours after the attempted assassination), Cheatle finally sat for an interview with Pierre Thomas from ABC News. During that interview she claimed that since there was a slanted roof on the AGR building, where the gunman was said to have fired several shots at Trump, the decision was made not to put a sniper on top lest he fall off.
This absolutely ridiculous claim has been met with immense push back and been soundly ridiculed. In fact, many builders have chimed in claiming the slant of the roof was anywhere from 1 12 to 2 12 which in plain English means the slope is anywhere from a 4.5 to a 9.5 degree angle – which is hardly an extreme pitch. And if the roof was so steep as Cheatle claims, how was the gunman able to navigate it with apparent ease?
The counter snipers who were set up on the roofs of buildings behind President Trump were stationed on a more severe slope. Other photos of the aftermath showed law enforcement easily standing next to the body of the deceased gunman. Clearly, Cheatle is an idiot, a liar, or both, and it is now abundantly clear that she is way over her head in her current role as the director of the Secret Service.
If we had a real media who held government officials accountable, Thomas would have asked Cheatle these hard questions and demanded answers:
- Who was responsible for the security plan for Trump’s rally, and has this individual resigned or been fired?
- How did the gunman freely move around the grounds outside of the rally perimeter carrying both a rifle and ladder, as has been reported?
- Why was the roof of the AGR building with a direct line of sight to Trump unmanned?
- If the original plan indicated that the roof was to remain unmanned:
- Why had not some kind of aerial recognizance been employed – like drones or a helicopter flying overhead equipped with heat sensors?
- Why was a motion detector not installed on the roof?
- How did the gunman know that this particular roof was not already occupied by law enforcement?
- Why was not the direct line of sight from the AGR building to Trump obliterated with some kind of barrier?
- Why was the Secret Service not preemptive in either removing Trump from the stage or eliminating the threat as soon as the gunman was identified on the roof some twenty minutes before the first shot rang out?
- Why did counter snipers take out the gunman only after he fired ? Were they given a stand down order? If so, why?
- It appears that the Secret Service is playing the blame game foisting sole responsibility of this tragedy on to local law enforcement. The local police departments have claimed that they were assigned to traffic control Is this true?
- The FBI came out shortly after the shooting stating it was a lone gunman before they were able to fully access his phone or conduct a complete investigation. Commenting on ongoing investigations is not often done. Why did the FBI break protocol this time?
- It has been reported that Trump’s security detail had asked for additional resources for weeks but was denied. Is this true?
- Is it typical that a 20-year-old has absolutely no social media footprint?
Cheatle who was a DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) hire having served on Jill Biden’s Secret Service detail when Joe was the vice president would not be willing or able to answer any of these questions. Reports have been circulating that none other than Dr. Jill herself recommended Cheatle to serve in the Biden administration in this important role.
In an older interview with CBS, Cheatle is on tape saying that she intends to increase the number of women serving in the Secret Service up to 30% by 2030. Her number one goal is not to protect important public figures from harm or death, but to make sure women are represented in this field.
Unfortunately, too many women were represented in President Trump’s Secret Service detail on Saturday. It was literally a clown show. One of the women cowered behind the president, another was too short to physically protect him, and yet a third could not quickly holster her weapon. All three of these women were hardly paragons of physical strength. They all appeared to be overweight and out of shape.
In those few moments of uncertainty when Trump was on the ground, a woman’s voice could clearly be heard saying, “What are we doing? What are we doing?” Why didn’t she already know what was supposed to happen? Don’t they train for a scenario exactly like this? In a moment of crisis this woman was not really equipped to rise to the occasion. Contrary to popular belief, women, or any other hire put into a job based solely on minority status, have no business serving in these crucial roles.
Only the most highly qualified should be protecting vulnerable public figures. The Secret Service should be recruiting and hiring those with great physical strength, a high level of fitness and a proven track record of grace under fire during dangerous and life-threatening circumstances. It is painfully obvious that the women on Trump’s detail did not have what it takes.
The terrible ideology of DEI has once again put lives in danger. It is more than past time we return to reality and stop the pretense that hiring based on trying to “even the playing field” is a good idea.
