A brutal, lethal stabbing occurred on August 22nd in Charlotte, North Carolina. The victim was a beautiful 23-year-old woman named Iryna Zarutska. Iryna was born in Kyiv. She and her family left war-torn Ukraine in 2022 and immigrated to the USA for a better life.
Iryna was coming home from work at a pizzeria after her shift. She boarded the ‘light rail’ train and sat in an open seat behind a black man with long dreadlocks wearing a red hoodie. She immediately began scrolling on her phone with her earbuds in. The man behind her seemed agitated, but nothing happened for four minutes.
The closed-circuit video then shows the attacker pulling out and unfolding a pocket knife from his hoodie. Then out of nowhere, he stood up, raising his arm high above his head, and began ruthlessly stabbing her.
Iryna had no way to defend herself as she was attacked from behind. She took one look at the attacker before slumping down in her seat. It was unclear if anyone else near Iryna on the train knew what was happening, as they were all on their phones, minding their own business.
The video then shows the attacker walking away from the victim with blood dripping off the knife and his cut hand as he heads to the train door. One man noticed the blood trail and looked back to where he had come from. To stop the dripping blood, the attacker took off his red hoodie and wrapped the knife and his hand within it. Others walk down the aisle, side-stepping the trail of blood. Thirty seconds later, he exited the train. At this point, the other passengers understand precisely what happened.
The suspect is 34-year-old Decarlos Brown Jr. He is a career criminal with a rap sheet a mile long. He has 14 previous arrests and was known to have suffered from schizophrenia. His own mother admitted that the authorities should not have released him, as he exhibited aggressive behavior in the past.
The criminal justice system failed this young woman. Two different judges recently released Decarlos Brown Jr.. At one of the hearings, he remarked that he had “man-made materials in his body that were controlling him.” At that point, any judge with half a brain should have known that this man was clearly off his rocker and a danger to himself and others. Instead, he was released to an unsuspecting public.
These crackpot judges are not the only ones to be called out. Our captured leftwing media refused to cover this story as the optics of a black man murdering a white woman in cold blood don’t really jive with their “white supremacist” or “police brutality” narratives. The only reason the video was released is that some local journalists FOIAed the public transit system. Otherwise, this story may have never become viral.

The hacks at Axios finally were compelled to pen an article – but here is the biased title they came up with: Stabbing video fuels MAGA’s crime message. Axios finally decided to report on this story two weeks late and has twisted it into some MAGA talking point instead of what it is– unimaginably brutal.
The media now only covers the deaths that serve their twisted agendas. And if they are forced to cover them, the stories are quickly memory-holed – just like the transgender shooter who just killed two innocent children in a Catholic church in Minneapolis. There don’t seem to be many updates on the many victims (21 in all) who survived the shooting, some of whom were elderly, or any more information about the shooter’s family life. He was an inconvenient profile, and they would like his story and his long, bleached hair and painted nails to fade away quickly.
In addition, the moment of the actual attack has been edited out of the video by the local media. They claim it is just too graphic. Compare this to the George Floyd incident, where images of Derek Chauvin kneeling on Floyd’s throat were on a constant loop for weeks on all the major news outlets. Perhaps if the media had edited out that part of the story, we would not have had riots and looting and the burning of our cities. But the democrats don’t really care about sensibilities; they only care about what political power can be gained by weaponizing these tragedies.
Another democrat operative, Mayor Vi Lyles of Charlotte, made a pathetic statement regarding this incident. First of all, she refused to say the victim’s name. How many times have we been berated by race hustlers to “Say his/her name!” when an African American is killed? Apparently, Ukrainian lives don’t matter that much.
Lyles also failed to mention the attacker’s extensive criminal background in her statement, thereby shifting any accountability for keeping this maniac off the street. Instead, she said he “suffered a crisis” and that mental health patients should be “treated with the same compassion, diligence and commitment as cancer or heart disease.” Based on his previous crimes, this guy should have been locked up for a very long time. That would have been the compassionate thing to do, not only for him but for Iryna Zarutska.
And where are all these people who “Stand with Ukraine” and fly Ukrainian flags on their homes or post an image of the Ukrainian flag on their social media profiles? Where is their outrage? They do not seem to be too upset that a young, defenseless Ukrainian woman was killed in cold blood. If Vladimir Putin had somehow been responsible, there would have been a highly coordinated PR machine vilifying the Russian president nonstop. It just goes to show you what total hypocrites these people are.
A final note, and this is certainly not meant to blame the victim: When riding public transportation or walking down the street, especially at night, one must practice situational awareness. This means taking the headphones and earbuds off and putting the phone away. Please keep in mind your surroundings and who is entering your personal space. In these crazy times, it might just save your life.
