The Jews are the true indigenous people of the country now called Israel
Leftists in America love to claim moral superiority because they are on the side of “indigenous people,” described as those with “tribal roots” who lived in the Americas before the “colonizers” (i.e. Christian Europeans) arrived to oppress them. They even have created a holiday, called Indigenous People’s Day in October, replacing what used to be Columbus Day.
“Before his arrival, the indigenous folk were successful self-sufficient communities that sustained life for thousands of years,” goes the narrative, painting the indigenous as the kind of unaggressive and benevolent folks you’d find at any local artists’ co-op or farmers’ market.
At least when they weren’t raiding the campsites of other tribes and scalping their enemies – sometimes even when they were still alive – to instill fear and assert dominance.
In fact, an archaeologist from Washington State University says that the most violent era in North America happened before the white settlers arrived. In the journal American Antiquity, Tim Kohler noted that nearly 90 percent of Pueblo human remains discovered from 1100 to the mid-1200s had the tell-tale signs of violent trauma to their heads and arms.
“If we’re identifying that much trauma, many were dying a violent death,” said Kohler, who added that may be a clue to the mysterious depopulation in the central Mesa Verde in what is now southwest Colorado.
Native Americans were hunters and warriors who were defeated in battle by Europeans with superior weaponry. Spears and tomahawks could not prevail against firearms and gunpowder.
But the Left portrays them as sanitized victims, holding their primitive societies and pagan religious beliefs as more worthy than Christianity in order to attack the foundations of modern Western civilization. Modern Americans are supposed to feel shame that our ancestors came to North America and “stole” the land from nomadic tribes who were already here.
However, the Left’s hypocrisy can be clearly seen in its current hysteria over Israel’s counteroffensive in Gaza after Hamas terrorists attacked and murdered 1,400 unarmed civilians in cold blood on October 7th. The justification for such war crimes is that the Jews “stole” the land from the Palestinians who were already there, even though there never was a country called Palestine. The United Nations established the state of Israel in 1948 as a refuge for European Jews after the Holocaust in Europe, but the land in dispute has been continually occupied by Jews for three millennia.
In other words, Jews are the true indigenous people of the country now called Israel. Not the Muslim Arabs living in Gaza. There has been a continual Jewish presence there since a thousand years before the birth of Christ. Archaeologists have uncovered the biblical City of David under Jerusalem, dating back to the Bronze and Iron Ages.
But nobody’s talking about that. It would spoil the Left’s favorite narrative.
