If you have ever seen the ending of one of Trump’s rallies, you will be familiar with the song “YMCA,” accompanied by Trump doing his iconic dance. It is humorous and reminiscent of a grandfather dancing at his granddaughter’s wedding. His lower body remains stiff while he thrusts each arm forward as though punching through a vat of honey.
Since his landslide win, the ‘Trump dance’ has become an internet sensation and has been mimicked by all sorts of athletes. From college and professional football players to women’s professional golfers and even a UFC champion, the ‘dance’ stands for achievement and victory. Even average folks are jumping on the bandwagon with TikTok’s challenges of replicating his moves, which seems tricky for some.
Just two weeks after Trump became the President-Elect, the culture has embraced a change. He was, of course, described by his opponents as another Hitler, a convicted felon and a person who was running to become a dictator. Yet, with all the noise, the American people voted resoundingly for him.
The ‘dance’ is the outward expression of society’s fight to return from the evil experienced in the past three and half years. It symbolizes that all those citizens who were intimidated into silence now have a voice. There is no longer a fear of being ostracized or arrested if you go to a school board meeting to defend the rights of your children for an education devoid of woke ideology. The dance means a resurgence of free speech, where a person can voice his political beliefs without fearing being canceled from his livelihood.
The dance is becoming so popular because it has become a symbol of victory. This is similar to when the American flag was placed on the hill in Iwo Jima, representing the taking of the volcanic island from the enemy, or when Apollo 11 placed the flag on the moon, showing that the first humans who stood on the moon were Americans. In this short snapshot of history, the dance stands for patriotism and the love of the country.
The cultural phenomenon and enthusiasm can only be explained as the bottled-up love of a country dismantled over the past years breaking wide open. Trump has unleashed a new wave of patriotism, and many citizens believe there is nothing wrong with being proud of our country and its history. His message of MAGA has resonated with the majority of voters. The citizens refused to agree with the leftist’s narrative that our country is inherently evil and constituted of racists and bigots.
Not only is the ‘dance’ a symbol of victory over the insane policies imposed upon the country by evil characters, but it is also an unambiguous message to the woke world—the nonsense must stop. Even AOC deleted her pronouns from her social media accounts. The public display of the Trump dance is a nonverbal sign that people are tired of the past, the silliness of pronouns, and the outright evil of the trans movement, all positions Trump has publicly promised to eradicate.
Unlike Harris, who tried to sell evil policies as joyful, the dance is a cheerful and organic expression of the absolute joy that a country is now on the right track and that the future for us and our children can once again filled with hope.
Although the fight is far from over, the prospects of regaining the country from the precipice of destruction seem much brighter than they did just weeks ago.
Just look at those who have emerged from the shadows and are now dancing.
