Tuesday’s joint session of Congress revealed the Democratic Party’s fraudulent message they have been pushing for years. As you may have seen or heard by now, Democrats refused to acknowledge any of the good that transpired during the first six weeks of the Trump administration. Those in the chamber refused to clap or stand as a sign of agreement with any accomplishment, even if the example was of a small boy beating his terminal medical prognosis.
In the past, the Democratic party successfully retained the moral high ground by touting itself as emphatic and compassionate. What was observed on Tuesday is that Trump has stripped them of the power of being the compassionate party and, by doing so, exposed them as a party that cares more about power than it does about the citizens it is supposed to represent.
Some Democratic party apparatchik thought it was a good idea for members to wear pink during Trump’s speech, supposedly in support of women ‘s rights. Just days before, Senate Democrats blocked the bill called the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act that would prohibit transgender athletes assigned as male at birth from participating in women’s sports. The only overwhelming support from Democrats is expanding abortion and the disfigurement of girls who think they can become boys.
The topic of the Ukraine war was mentioned, and as Trump made it clear, he is for peace with the hopes of saving lives on both sides. There is nothing more compassionate than a desire to stop the slaughter in Eastern Europe. The Democrats don’t see it that way, and when the subject was mentioned, they just sat on their hands. One can only conclude that the Democrats care very little about human life and more about monetizing the military-industrial complex and publicly chastising Putin.
The Democratic silence continued when the subject of government waste was mentioned. Cleaning out the corruption and malfeasance in the federal government is not to their liking. Most of the public disagrees with them, but the Democrats are pretty coy. Instead of defending the waste in government, they pulled out the compassion card for all those unneeded federal employees who are losing their jobs. Funny, they didn’t seem to care one iota when many employees lost their jobs during the COVID pandemic due to their policies.
Then, the Democrats were incredibly annoyed when Trump brought up the tragic case of Laken Riley, murdered by an illegal alien gang member. Trump said, “He [gang member] had then been arrested and released in a Democrat-run sanctuary city, a disaster, before ending the life of this beautiful young angel. It is no surprise the Democrats would not cheer a critique of their open border policies and the many hardships it has caused.
The most egregious lack of compassion and empathy came when they refused to acknowledge a 13-year-old black boy named D.J. Daniel. D.J. was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2018, and his prognosis was bleak. He has already undergone 13 surgeries with a noticeable scar across his head. His wish was always to be a policeman.
When Trump bestowed upon this boy the honorary title of Secret Service Agent with a badge to accompany it, it should have evoked some emotional response. It was like “Make a Wish” on a national level. Still, the Democrats couldn’t muster any support for D.J. or his family. And the reason is quite apparent again: it doesn’t fit into their political agenda. For years, the Democrats have been railing against law enforcement as filled with racists and should be defunded. Curiously, they never claimed the F.B.I. should be defunded because they knew the agency was doing their bidding.
But how can you not empathize with a young boy who has already gone through more than anyone should and deny him the honor he deserves? Only when you have no compassion at all.
The display of the Democrats in the hallowed halls of Congress on Tuesday made it evident to many Americans the party who claimed to be compassionate are, in reality, power-hungry jerks. They never cared for the average citizen, and the veil covering their hypocrisy was ripped off for all to see.
