In what has to be the best mic drop of the week, Vice President J. D. Vance clapped back at Margaret Brennan of CBS News in a recent interview on Face the Nation. Brennan tried to split hairs over whether an Afghan immigrant who planned a terrorist attack on election day was radicalized back home or in the United States. Part of that exchange is below.
VICE PRESIDENT VANCE: I don’t want my children to share a neighborhood with people who are not properly vetted, and because I don’t want it for my kids, I’m not going to force any other American citizens’ kids to do that either.
MARGARET BRENNAN: No. And that was a very particular case. It wasn’t clear if he was radicalized when he got here or while he was living here, but–
VICE PRESIDENT VANCE: I don’t really care, Margaret. I don’t want that person in my country, and I think most Americans agree with me.
“I really don’t care, Margaret.” Five little words shut down not only this particular leftist propagandist but the entire mainstream media in their tracks. Why? Because it’s no longer 2017 when you can be fired, canceled, pilloried, doxed, de-banked, or censored for espousing an opinion opposed to the elitist Marxist regime.
And good for J.D. Vance for acknowledging that if he doesn’t want crime in his neighborhood, regular everyday Americans should not be subject to its harmful effects either. This is a far cry from the typically elite Marxist who lives in a gated community with 24-7 personal security. These are the same people who have intentionally allowed gang members, criminals, and terrorists from all over the world to enter our country through the southern border. Talk about hypocrisy.
This blatant act of defiance by the Vice President on national TV should now give us all the confidence to do likewise. With some sanity and common sense back in the White House, we now have permission to stand up for our beliefs and speak freely without fear of retribution.
So the next time someone calls you a racist, nativist, homophobe, transphobe, hater, bigot, religious zealot, or any of the left’s ad hominem attacks, your reply should be, “I really don’t care.” These insults are words specifically chosen to shame those they are hurled at. But it’s like that old adage – sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never harm me.
We have been silenced by those who control the media for the last eight years, and it is well past time we exercise our First Amendment rights and push back against the lies and propaganda that have been thrust down our throats. So, feel empowered to speak out against the evils of abortion, transgender surgeries for children, euthanasia, pornography in schools, drag queens in the library, and the cult of climate change. We now have an advocate at 1600 Pennsylvania – at least for the next four years.
Please continue to pray for President Trump, his family, the administration, and our country. Those who have held the levers of power will not go easily. Hopefully, God will shed His grace upon our nation once again, and we will become a more deserving people of His love and protection.
